• Mr. Muditha Peiris

    Group Chairman

    Mr. Muditha Peiris is a proud product of St Benedicts College Colombo where he excelled in cricket and many other sports.

    He specialized in Business Management at Kingston College London and on his return in 1995 took charge of the family business, MM Express (Pvt) Limited as the Managing Director. Working alongside his father for over a decade Muditha gained valuable insights and broadened his vistas in the field of business.

    With his passion to serve the public, he contested Local Government elections and won comfortably to secure the Chairmanship of Kaduwela Urban Council in Sri Lanka and served from 2002 to 2006.

    In 2006 he created Mitko International (Private) Limited, as a construction company and he played a major role as the Chairman, bringing the company to the current status, a group with five subsidiary companies serving in the fields of Mining & building material supplies, Construction & property development , Family healthcare,  IT & communications solutions, and Mitko Gateway Abroad. In 2014, Mitko Group, under his leadership ventured out to Australia in the field of construction creating company named Mitko Homes Pty Limited and is in the process of consolidating business.

    Continuing his passion to serve public, Muditha, in addition to his duties with Mitko Group also served as the Managing Director of Litro Gas Lanka Limited, a Government owned enterprise from 2015 to 2020, and spearheaded to build the organization as one of the profitable and best managed companies of the Government. During his period Litro Gas made a Cumulative profit of RS.24.8 Bn (PBT) with a recorded volume growth of 97%, provided over 15,000 direct/indirect employment opportunities to people of Sri Lanka through the enhancement of dealers/ distribution network, won 40 Awards and Accolades for the organization, introduced over 2.5 Mn new cylinders to the market and held over 74% of the market share.

  • Ms. Udeni Kothalawala

    Group CEO/ED

    A member of the Institute of Management Sri Lanka, a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA-CIMA) and an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountant (CIMA, UK), Udeni carries with her over 20 years’ experience of strategic financial and general management.

    She began her carrier in 1994 at Associated Motorways Limited, a highly reputed conglomerate in Sri Lanka engaged in motor trade holding Sri Lankan franchise for many international brands of vehicles. Having excelled in her work Udeni joined Sumathi Holdings in 1996 which had diversified business interests locally and internationally. She rapidly rose to the position of Group Finance Director.

    Udeni throughout her career held cross functional responsibilities. Her exposure levels are rare and spanning from traditional financial responsibilities to strategic association in mergers & acquisitions, project management, carrying out feasibility studies, dealing with national and international funding / financial institutions, new business decision making and concurrently holding operational responsibilities for multiple business entities.

    Her career exposure levels had been broad and diversified ranging from Integrated IT services, media distribution services, telephony services, herbal tea manufacturing, construction, quarry & excavation management, road construction.

    Udeni as a pioneer with the Mitko Group, through her unique task-oriented management style backed by her overriding desire to succeed, has assisted Group Chairman to build Mitko Group to be a dynamic fast-growing Sri Lankan company with overseas business interests.

  • Mr. M. Udayasri

    Group Director

    Mahadeva Udayasri, fondly known as Sri, joined Mitko Group in June 2010. Despite joining late into the business, Sri brings with him global exposure and experience well over 35 years in diversified business fields. He specialities lie in data processing management and he has completed his professional studies at the Institute of Data Processing Management, UK.

    Sri’s start to the career was a bright one, literally. In 1978, he joined as a Centre Manager at Blue Diamonds Ltd, the largest diamond factory under one roof in the world at that time. Instrumental in computerising the system, Sri’s skill was made note of early in his tenure when he completed his task using basic computers meant for home use. It was the first time a diamond cutting and polishing process was computerised in the world.

    He then ventured into fingerprinting technology and worked in the capacity of Executive Director of a joint venture between Ceylinco Group, Sri Lanka and Melawar Corporation, Malaysia. In 1994, Sri decided to venture out on his own and set up his company in Malaysia to develop and market document management systems, with companies including MIKA, Fujitsu Malaysia as his South East Asian partners.

    By 1999, Sri moved into the telecom industry and joined as a shareholder and Business Development Director at Telic Communications Inc, USA and secured several contracts with clients including Primus UK, Germany, Pulse India etc. He was also simultaneously appointed CEO of Cross Heaven, Hong Kong where he worked on VoIP technology. After an extensive stint at Telic, Sri joined Pulse India, India’s sixth ISP company, as its Business Development Director.

    After many decades of global exposure, Sri returned to Sri Lanka in 2009 and joined Omega Technologies where he was involved with the telecommunications and media units until he joined Mitko Group at its Group Director in 2010.
